Our Cross Country team ran a great race Saturday morning in Rogers! It was cool and cloudy (and ended with some pouring rain), but the kids loved it! Both the 9th Girls and 9th Boys finished in 6th Place! 12 runners finished with Negative splits (Mile #2 is faster then Mile #1). 21 out of our 23 GJHS/KMS runners earned a new personal record! Way to go Wranglers and Coach Zbylut! We are so proud of the amazing job our Cross County team is doing! #DestinationGeorge
This past week was a very busy one for our GJHS choir students, Mr. Jones, and Mr. Loyd. We had 71 choir students individually record and send in their recorded auditions for the 2021-2022 Region 5 All-Region choir! We are extremely proud of all students who went through this process.
We are pleased to announce that 36 of our 71 students that auditioned were selected to be in the ArkCDA Region 5 Jr. High All Region Choirs! Way to go, Wranglers! We are proud of all of our students that auditioned for their hard work and dedication. We also want to send a huge congrats to Mr. Jones and Mr. Loyd! #DestinationGeorge

Wrangler Families: The deadline of Friday, October 1st to purchase the SDPP Chromebook Insurance is fast approaching! After this date the cost of all Chromebook repairs and part replacements are locked in for those students that have not taken advantage of the SDPP!

Yesterday, we held the first meeting of our newly formed Principal’s Cabinet! We had some very distinguished guests from our District Administration join us for our inaugural meeting! This Cabinet is formed of GJHS students who will give a voice for their peers in regards to any questions, comments, and/or concerns about ongoing issues and hot topics within our building. They will work together with our Building Admin and come up with reasonable resolutions to make everyone’s experience at a GJHS positive one! #DestinationGeorge #THEChoice
We desperately need your help! Even though all students are being allowed to eat for free again this year, we still need families to complete the free and reduced meal form.
Here’s why: Our district must have at least 70% of our students qualify for free and reduced meals by October 1, 2021, or we will lose up to $8 million dollars in funding next year. This $8 million dollars are the funds used to provide nurses, social workers, and school resource officers for each school.
Right now, we are only at 66%. Will you please help us by completing the application today?
